    Wakami Lake
    This lake is known for its serene and still waters and for great angling. There is a tremendously challenging four-day hiking trail that spans the shoreline of the lake.     Batchawana Bay Provincial Park

    The sandy beach at this day-use park attracts both sand castle engineers and sunbathers. Swimmers can enjoy the shallow and some of the warmest water on Lake Superior.

    Fushimi Lake Provincial Park

    This park and surrounding area is known for its rugged coasts and trails. Outdoor enthusiasts will enjoy a number of activities including canoeing, camping, fishing, hiking and wildlife observation such as moose, white-tailed deer and a variety of birds.

    Missinaibi Provincial Park

    This prime wilderness park was once an active trade route to James Bay. Experienced canoeists still paddle the waters of the Missinaibi River. A large collection of rock paintings exists, dating back to as early as 1000 BC.

    Pancake Bay Provincial Park

    Relax in the sheltered bay of this Lake Superior park where voyageurs once stopped to replenish their supplies. There is a viewing platform where visitors can see the point where the SS Edmund Fitzgerald sank as a result of a strong storm in 1975, making it the worst shipping industry disaster on the Great Lakes in 11 years.

    Sault Canal National Historic Site - Park Canada

    The Sault Canal National Historic Site contains historical structures that have ben a part of the complex since 1895. The lock gates on the site are 274-meters long, 18-meters wide and 13-meters deep.

    The Shoals Provincial Park

    The Shoals is known for swimming (in Little Wawa Lake), as well as angling and canoeing. There are 25 backcountry camp spots that can only be accessed by canoe. There is also a tent/trailer campground in the park.

    Potholes Provincial Park

    Take a stroll down the interpretive trail in this park to observe the wildflowers, as well as the potholes and troughs in the Kinniwabi River. Facilities are for day use only. Open from early June until early September.

    This park is located in downtown Sault Ste. Marie along the riverbanks of St. Mary's River. The park plays host to a number of banquets, musical performances, festivals, community events and more throughout the year. The 14,500 sq. foot, open-air pavilion serves as the opening venue for the Ontario winter carnival, Bon Soo.
